Being the only entity in the railway sector for comprehensive study and development of new materials, new processes, failure analysis and material testing, CARS mainly provides research and testing of materials, processes and performance of products made of metal and polymer materials for railway locomotives, cars and public works; R&D of welding materials and equipments for railway vehicles and bridges, as well as know-how and training of nondestructive inspection; study, analysis and testing of various railway lubes and greases; study of waterproof and anticorrosive materials for vehicles, bridges and tunnels; and study and technical consultation of cement-emulsified asphalt mortar and maintenance resin materials for high speed rails.
